About Me
My name is Haley Borodine and I recently graduated with my MFA in Properties Design and Management at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. While studying, I was working as both a Properties Master and a Properties Artisan on 13-15 shows including theatre, dance, and opera. I received my Bachelor of Science in Theatrical Design and Technology from Ball State University in 2013.
My interests lean more towards the macabre, off-putting, and strange. The weirder, the better. In my experience, the weird and generally off-putting projects tend to be the ones that I have learned the most from. I am not one to back down from a difficult project, rather, I actively seek them out.
While working in the shop, I care about the well-being of my fellow artisans as well as getting the work done. Both camaraderie and efficiency are two things I pride myself of and are two very important elements of having a streamlined and productive shop.
I have previously worked as a properties intern at Actors Theatre of Louisville, a properties artisan at Utah Shakespeare Festival, the properties supervisor at Hope Summer Repertory Theatre, the technical director at Andrean High School, the properties artisan at Georgia Shakespeare Festival, and as a carpenter at Theatre at the Center.
I am available for freelance work. Please refer to my contact page for more information.
